"Jokerman" chorus, with two variants

The chorus is the closest the song comes to a fixed melody. But even here Dylan can't help but mess with it eventually: note the two euphoric variations to the "bird fly high" phrase. All of this melodic invention is apt in “Jokerman,” whose chorus celebrates instinctive melody in the form of the “nightingale tune."
